Models

Nowadays, girls and women read magazines on paper or online at least once a week. What do they look for? Fashion, Makeup, Tips. However, how are these transmitted to the public? Via models. I think we will all agree that models are very very very pretty women, who are thin, with long legs, amazing cheekbones, perfect skin and much more. Are they true though? Are these pictures that we see real, without any trace of processing?

To find out, I decided to transform myself into a "model" to portray how much pictures are edited in order to be printed in a magazine.

In the first picture, the eyes were turned green, the nose smaller and eyelashes have been added. Also, the shape of the face is more chiseled.

In this specific picture, the changes are not very obvious. The eyes were changed into the colour blue, the eyebrows have a more defined shape, the nose is straightened and the shape of the face is thinner. Moreover, a neutral makeup has been applied.

In the below picture, more defined cheekbones have been applied and the eyes were changed into sky-blue.

Three main parts were the focus on the picture below; the skin, the eyes and the nose. The skin is smoother, the eyes were turned blue and the nose is completely straight.

However, do we actually want to end up looking like this.. a plastic barbie?

Everything is made by me using Adobe Photoshop CS3 and CS5.
